STEM Gender Equality Congress (SGEC) – 8 & 9 June 2017

The STEM Gender Equality Congress (SGEC) takes place at the Seminaris Campus Hotel in Berlin on 8-9 June 2017.

This annual  two day conference is attended by world leading researchers, policy makers, equality staff, the private sector, academic staff, government representatives and NGOs.  It offers an excellent opportunity to network, learn and collaborate to achieve greater gender equality in STEM.


Some of the themes to be explored in next years congress include; ‘Addressing unconscious bias’, ‘Promoting gender equality in Horizon 2020’, ‘Inclusion of the gender dimension in research and science’, ‘Embedding equality throughout the organisation’, ‘Gender-fair recruitment and retention strategies’ and ‘Supporting a culture of gender equality and research excellence’.

Speakers, include Dr. Cara Tannenbaum, Scientific Director of the Institute of Gender and Health, Canadian Institutes of Health Research,  David Ruebain, Chief Executive, Equality Challenge Unit & Athena SWAN Charter and Dr Wafa El-Adhami, Executive Director of Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE).
